Our Chapter

The Captain Edward Hagin Chapter, in Dallas, was established in 1982 by founding regent Ruth Brown Mercer. Named in honor of Georgia Revolutionary War patriot Captain Edward Hagin, the Chapter recognizes his service as a refugee soldier under General Elijah Clarke during the struggle for American independence. Captain Hagin was among the many Georgians who remained steadfast in their support of the Patriot cause during a turbulent period in the state’s history.

Today, the Captain Edward Hagin Chapter continues to honor the legacy of our Patriot ancestor, foster fellowship among members, and support projects that celebrate America’s history and heritage.
