Our Chapter
The Adam Brinson Chapter, NSDAR, founded in Twin City, Georgia, on October 10, 1930, honors Adam Brinson, born June 10, 1751, in Onslow County, NC, and died in 1808 in Burke County, Georgia. Mr. Brinson is cited for his patriotic service. The Governor David Emanuel Chapter, NSDAR, was founded in Swainsboro, Georgia, on May 26, 1931. This Chapter’s name honors the contributions and legacy of David Emanuel. He was born in 1744 in Pennsylvania and died on February 19, 1808, in Georgia. He was a member of the Georgia legislature and held various local offices. From 1785 to 1786, David Emanuel served as the Governor of Georgia and was also a prominent figure serving in the American Revolutionary War. David Emanuel is also the namesake of the county in which this chapter is located.
In July 2010, the two Chapters merged to form the Governor David Emanuel-Adam Brinson Chapter. Our Chapter presently has sixty-four members. A small but mighty Chapter! We work hard throughout the year to preserve, educate, and promote national patriotism.
