The John Franklin Wren Chapter, NSDAR, is named for John Franklin Wren, son of Francis and Elizabeth Wren. He was born December 12,1798, and died October 24, 1869. He is buried in the Wren Family Cemetery located east of the ARP Church in Wrens, GA. John married Martha Corbitt on November 24,1819. John and Martha had 8 children.

organizational meeting in the spacious early American country log house of Mrs. J. J. Pilcher, Sr. of Wrens on November 27,1965, with 30 members, four of whom were Juniors. In this perfect setting Mrs. Thornton, State Regent, installed the officers in a ceremony of solemn dignity after which a reception was held for members and a large number of guests from neighboring chapters. The chapter was confirmed by the National Board of Management on December 8, 1965. Sara Wren Lively was the organizing regent.
