The Liberty Hill Chapter
Organized on December 5, 2017.
The Liberty Hill Chapter, NSDAR, is named after Liberty Hill Cemetery, a historic site established in the late 1700s. It is one of the oldest landmarks in the city of Acworth, Georgia. Nearby stood Liberty Hill Baptist Church—Acworth’s first Baptist church—built near the cemetery. Liberty Hill Cemetery is the final resting place of some of Acworth’s earliest and most distinguished residents.
The name “Liberty Hill” was chosen by the earliest pioneers of Cobb County, Georgia, as a tribute to their cherished freedom. Both the cemetery and the church are important parts of Acworth’s commitment to preserving its history.
Our chapter meets the second Saturday of the month, from September through May. For more information, please contact our chapter.
