Our Chapter
Formed by 28 Organizing Members in February 2007, the Sandy Springs Chapter, NSDAR, is dedicated to the national society’s mission of promoting historic preservation, fostering education, and encouraging participation in patriotic activities. It expands a legacy of community service and preserves our American heritage in service to God, Home, and Country.
Our members participate in a variety of projects and programs designed to attain those goals, including:
-
-
- helping to restore and maintain historic sites;
- preserving and making available at DAR Headquarters a collection of genealogical records, artifacts, and historical documents;
- providing donations and scholarships to support eight schools, including two for American Indians;
- presenting patriotic awards to deserving individuals; and sending care packages of needed items to American military personnel serving overseas.
